We’re winding up our early Spring classes and events schedule, and planning now for our late Spring and Summer schedule, which will be announced mid-April. Please subscribe here to receive an inbox notification the moment our new classes schedule is ready for registration.
To catch you up, here’s a list of dates and times for social events happening during the month of April. Please be sure to save the dates and come join the fun!
Thursday, April 20 7-9 pm is our next social evening. Come join us for a cup of tea and project catch-up time or after hours shopping. Please note this is a social meet-up and not a knitting or crochet helpline class. If you are having difficulties with a project, and need some extra assistance, please call the shop so that we may arrange a specific time for project instruction during our regular hours or as an hour-long private class.
Friday, April 28 – Sunday, April 30 is the Woolith Fair yarn crawl. Organized by the West Coast Knitters’ Guild, this three-day yarn crawl is designed to get you out and about, and visiting as many participating Local Yarn Stores and fibre-related businesses as possible. We’re excited to participate again this year! Please visit the official Woolith Fair website for more information about which shops are participating and how you can get involved in this fun-filled event.
Saturday, April 29: We’re delighted to welcome back our lovely friend and local knitwear designer Sylvia McFadden of Softweater Knits. Sylvia will be joining us for the day with a trunk show of her gorgeous designs. Her latest book, A Stillness of Trees: A Collection of Three Knitted Shawl Patterns, was artfully photographed by Sylvia at Porteau Cove on Winter Solstice. We have this beautiful book, along with Sylvia’s first book Shawl Joy, on our bookshelf, and we can’t wait to see the entire collection in person.
Good Friday, April 14 through Easter Monday, April 17: 88 Stitches is closed for our annual Easter Weekend hiatus. We’re looking forward to spending time with our loved ones, and we wish you a wonderful long weekend of family time and “hoppy” stitching.
