We’re delighted to share the news that we’re now a Canadian stockist of Wax and Wool, etc.’s lovely small batch, hand-poured soy candles from neighbouring Washington State. We have a great selection of both seasonal and favourite scents in reusable 9oz amber and apothecary mason jars with lids. Some of our current favourites are Tree Farm, Cinnamon Chai, Christmas Market, Bourbon and Teakwood.
The urge is strong this time of the year to cozy up and hygge as daylight hours grow shorter. Something as simple as lighting a beautiful candle with knitting or a book in your lap evokes a feeling of well-being and contentment at the end of a busy day.
We’re also very excited to be one of the first Canadian stockists of the new Making Stories, an independent knitwear publication founded by Verena Cohrs and Hanna Lisa Haferkamp, based in Berlin. We’ve been following the publication journey of Making Stories since the beginning, and we couldn’t be more delighted to share with you their gorgeous first edition WOODS.
Beautifully photographed, and inspired by crisp fall and winter days, WOODS focuses on natural fibers, cozy modern woolens, while featuring designer and yarn company profiles, tutorials, interviews and 11 must-knit designs.
Our new arrivals table is full of lovely new things that are perfect gifts for you and yours this holiday season. Besides candles, Wax and Wool, etc. makes a wonderfully soothing, all-natural hand salve from Shea butter, coconut oil, white beeswax, and lavender essential oil. Just the thing to tuck inside our cute new woodland animal-themed zippered pouches.
Another great pattern collection currently on our book shelf is a Sense of Place by Andrea Mowry of Drea Renee Knits, featuring four new cozy and timeless designs. Alongside the patterns are three delicious recipes by Anna Brones of Comestible, that bring the fall harvest inside and onto our tables.
This Thursday, November 23 from 7-9 pm is our next evening social. You’re invited to bring your knitting or crochet and join us for tea and social time. This is not a class and there is no charge to attend. The shop is also open for after hours shopping on this date from 7-9 pm.
